Less chill, more power

From the suggestion box @ your library:

The air conditioning is always too cold. Gives everyone a running nose and wasted electricity. Also, more power points for laptops please. Thanks.

The library responds:

Hello

Thank you for your comment. Re the Air conditioning. I have referred your comment to the University section that controls the air conditioning. Unfortunately, this is not controlled by the Library.

Re more power points. You will have noticed several areas of the Library are or have recently undergone refurbishment. We are building into each of these areas more power points for laptops and will continue to do this as more areas are renovated.

The air conditioning is often too cold in many buildings in Curtin (and elsewhere). I guess we don't notice it when it's at a good level, though, eh?

Why not just add power boards to the outlets in the work areas of levels 2,3 &4?

Further to the air conditioning being too cold.

The University Air-Con people checked the LIbrary building this afternoon (15/5/2008), regarding the building being too cold.

The guidelines are to run the building between 22.5 and 23 degrees. He checked on level 3 & level 5 : at the time they were running at 24 and 22.5 respectively.

People can often feel colder when sitting near an outlet and it might be useful to move a little further away to be more comfortable.

As always we will keep monitoring this.
